Who knew that Uganda was home to such unique creatures, plant life and beauty.. this country has got to be one of the most underrated places on the planet. These magical Avatar forests exist in the high altitude mountains along the border of Congo and Uganda, high up in the clouds… exactly as you’d imagine. This was just one of the many mind blowing places I was able to witness while exploring Uganda for the last 5 weeks. But to be honest, most of these weren’t even that bad. The gastronomy of Asia is certainly diverse, and trying the weird foods of the world is a great way to get an insight into some of the cultural traditions that exist in the far reaches of the earth. Everyone knows this Africa is super dangerous and Everyone knows this Africa is super dangerous and scary. And by everyone I mean the people who have never been there, and also think that Africa is a country 😂 I think many people would be surprised to hear that I felt safer traveling through rural Africa than I have in most countries around the world, including my home country. Not even once did I ever feel anything other than safe, welcomed and appreciated. I think this narrative that people have about these countries being unsafe for tourism needs to stop. Still don’t understand how this is actually real 😳 Still don’t understand how this is actually real 😳 Madagascar is the definition of a world separated from everything we know. The amount of endemic species on that island is next level to anything else you’ll find on earth. And why is this? This is because Madagascar was broken away from the African continent long long ago, which made it so the big mammals never came to be (lions, elephants, rhinos ect) so the small animals could survive and flourish with no predatory threats. This unique circumstance made the evolution of these exotic creatures so different to what you’d see anywhere else.
